# Cargo Finance How-To Guides

> Step-by-step guides for Cargo vaults: KYC and wallets, the Genesis Auction, verifying a deposit address, bidding, redeeming, the bridge, data, security reports and delivery.

Where a guide quotes a size, price or interval, it is the Genesis Vault's (cvCOCOA, West African Grade 1 cocoa); each vault's term sheet sets its own.

## Complete KYC and Whitelist a Wallet

**1. Verify**

Complete Persona KYC (individuals: ID, liveness, proof of address) or KYB (entities: incorporation documents, directors, beneficial owners above 10%, signatory authority). Sign the Eligibility Declaration.

**2. Register Wallets**

Send up to three wallet addresses and their chain to compliance. You receive a participant ID and a nonce.

**3. Sign the Ownership Message**

Sign this message from each wallet:

```text theme={null}
Cargo Vault One — wallet ownership
I, [legal name / entity], control this wallet and register it for Cargo Vault One.
Participant ID: [CV1-P-0000]
Chain: [Arc / Base]
Date (UTC): [YYYY-MM-DD]
Nonce: [issued by compliance]
```

**4. Confirmation**

After screening, the wallet is added to the identity registry and you receive a confirmation. Screening re-runs on new orders and every six months. Tell compliance about any new beneficial owner, country of residence or wallet before your next trade.

## Add or Change a Wallet

**1. Tell Compliance**

Send the new address and its chain. You can have up to three registered wallets at a time.

**2. Sign the Ownership Message**

Sign the message above from the new wallet, with a fresh nonce from compliance.

**3. Wait for Confirmation**

Only trade from the new wallet once it shows as verified. A transfer to an unregistered wallet fails on-chain.

## Take Part in the Genesis Auction

**1. Be Ready Before the Window**

Finish KYC or KYB and whitelist your wallets. Each vault opens with its own Genesis Auction; the Genesis Vault's rescheduled dates are announced on [Updates](https://docs.cargotrading.xyz/ecosystem/updates.md) and the official channels.

**2. Commit USDC on the Curve**

Each ticket pays the average price across its slice of the curve, so earlier money buys at a deeper discount. There is no fee on the curve.

**3. Choose to Lock, or Not**

In the Genesis Vault, locking Genesis shares for 90 or 180 days adds +1.0% or +2.5% bonus shares.

**4. Settlement**

If the minimum is reached (\$500,000 in the Genesis Vault), shares are delivered to your wallet at settlement. If it is not, every dollar is refunded.

## Verify a Deposit Address

**1. Read It from Your Agreement**

The address is printed in your signed agreement. Ignore any address sent by chat, DM or email.

**2. Check the Signed Announcement**

The same address is posted, signed by the issuer key, on the official announcement channel.

**3. Call a Named Director**

Use a phone number from the data room, not from a message. The director reads you the first 6 and last 4 characters.

**4. Send a Test Amount**

Send a small amount first (for example 10 USDC) and wait for confirmation before sending the balance.

## Bid in a Batch Auction

**1. Review the Lots**

Check the published lot IDs, quantity, grade, receipts and reserves, and today's NAV.

**2. Place a Sealed Bid**

Enter price per share and quantity (minimum \$5,000). You can edit it until clearing.

**3. Settle**

At 12:00 UTC on the batch day, everyone filled pays the same clearing price, plus 0.25%. USDC and shares swap atomically.

## Redeem at NAV

**1. Request**

Above the vault minimum (1,000 shares in the Genesis Vault), submit a redemption request at least 24 hours before a batch.

**2. Strike**

Your request strikes at that batch's NAV, less 0.10%.

**3. Paid**

USDC is paid on delivery, within 12 days of the strike. In the Genesis Vault, the first redemptions strike at Batch 4.

## Exit Instantly Through the Liquidity Bridge

Sell shares to the bridge at NAV − 1.0%, up to its published capacity. Check live capacity before you sell.

## Check NAV and Lot Data

* **NAV:** posted on-chain every day after the vault's reference price publishes (ICE London Cocoa, for the Genesis Vault).
* **iNAV:** every minute by API and WebSocket, and every 15 minutes on-chain during reference-market hours. API keys come with onboarding.
* **Lots:** the public lot registry shows each lot's ID, quantity, grade, receipt hash and status.
* **Batches:** the batch tape shows clearing price, discount to NAV, volume, bid-to-cover and lot IDs.

See the [Data API](https://docs.cargotrading.xyz/developers/api.md).

## Report a Security Issue

Email **[cargovaults@gmail.com](mailto:cargovaults@gmail.com)** with the subject line "Security". Do not post details publicly, and never test against mainnet contracts or real funds. See [Audits & Bug Bounty](https://docs.cargotrading.xyz/safety/audits-and-bug-bounty.md#reporting-a-vulnerability).

## Become an Approved Buyer

**1. Get in Touch**

Email **[cargovaults@gmail.com](mailto:cargovaults@gmail.com)** with your company, the assets you buy, destination markets and typical volumes.

**2. Complete KYB**

Entity verification as for any participant, plus two trade references and evidence of contract-signing authority.

**3. Sign the Approved Buyer Agreement**

Provide import and shipping details for the destination and bank details for deposit refunds.

**4. Bid for Lots**

Receive the lot sheet and place offtake bids. See [Partnerships](https://docs.cargotrading.xyz/governance/partnerships.md#approved-buyers-offtake).

## Take Physical Delivery

Above the vault's minimum, request delivery ex-warehouse to your nominated buyer. In the Genesis Vault, that is from 10,000 shares (10 t), to your nominated licensed exporter. You pay cost, and receive the collateral manager's weight and quality certificates.
